2022 Problem Area Decided at Assembly

CAJE leaders and their networks gathered at Holy Redeemer on Tuesday, November 15, to vote on the problem that calls loudest for investigation. The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of “Housing Conditions.” This is especially important for low-income renters who are often at the mercy of landlords who fail to maintain properties, exorbitant energy costs compounded by weather extremes, and a lack of available housing that is affordable. While an increase in affordable housing developments promises to help offset this problem in the future by giving renters more options, deteriorating conditions in many neighborhoods require attention now. CAJE leaders will begin a formal investigation of the problem area on December 5 at the Research to Action kickoff.
